October is International Walk-to-School Month! We encourage all students who can to walk or roll to or from school anytime of the year, but those who participate in our optional Walktober Challenge can earn a prize this month!
How does it work? Download this calendar to track your trips walking or rolling to or from school this month. Students who log 2 qualifying trips per week will earn a special reward from the PTSA! (Only students who submit their calendar will receive a reward.)

How does it work? Download this calendar to track your trips walking or rolling to or from school this month. Students who log 2 qualifying trips per week will earn a special reward from the PTSA! (Only students who submit their calendar will receive a reward.)
Here are some helpful tips:
- Qualifying trips include walking, rolling using a bike or scooter, riding the bus, or being part of a carpool.
- Each day you will make 2 trips: one trip to get to school, one trip to get home
- You do not have to walk or roll both ways to/from school on a single day: if you walk in the morning but drive home in the afternoon, that counts as 1 qualifying trip!
At the end of the month, turn in your completed calendar to your teacher or take a picture or scan and email it to Sustainability@mcauliffeptsa.org. Please contact the Sustainability Chair at this email if you have any questions.
We strive to have our events accessible to everyone in our community. Anyone who may anticipate needing accommodations or who has questions about access may email us at inclusion@mcauliffeptsa.org in advance of an event.
