5 minutes? Join our PTSA! Already a member? Be sure you’re signed up for our weekly newsletter, Challenger Weekly E-Blast, and follow us on Facebook.
A few hours? Come to the PTSA General Membership meetings that happen 2-4 times a year. All meetings are currently online on Thursday evenings. Log-in and listen, learn, and share your points of view on how we help enrich your child’s school experience.

Once a year? Events might be for you. Chair an event or sign up to help run an event. Examples include Back to Business, Ice Cream Social, Fun Run, Talent Show, Used Book Rodeo, Spelling Bee, Bingo Night, School Play, and more. Got an idea for another school event? Bring your ideas to the PTSA meetings!
Year-long commitment? Become a Board member. Lead a team of volunteers in an area you are passionate about. Time involved varies by position. For more details on all roles and volunteer opportunities visit our Board of Directors page.

The McAuliffe PTSA is looking for Board members for the 2023-24 School Year!
Serving on the board is a great way to make connections with other McAuliffe parents and help build a strong school community! Find a friend and share a position! Share your skills or learn new ones!
Contact nominations@mcauliffeptsa.org if you are interested in volunteering for any of the following roles or would like more information. A conversation does not equal a commitment, so feel free to just inquire!
Below are brief descriptions of the roles we are looking to fill. For more complete position descriptions, please look here.
President: Provide overall organization and guidance to the Board, including developing agendas and leading meetings; work with school administration to ensure the PTSA supports all McAuliffe students and staff; represent the PTSA to the broader McAuliffe community and regional, state and national PTSA councils. (8-10 hours per month)
Executive VP: Assist the President with their duties; provide oversight and assistance to other board members and program chairs; coordinate, or recruit volunteers to run, events such as New Family Dinner, Welcome Back Coffee, and volunteer and staff appreciation efforts. (8-10 hours per month)
Treasurer: Maintain the PTSA's financial records, oversee budget development, collect and disperse funds, and generate financial reports; maintain PTSA’s legal status by filing taxes, non-profit renewal, and renewing insurance. (8 hours per month, can be done outside of school hours)
VP School Services: Recruit volunteers for school programs such as Vision and Hearing Screening, School Pictures, Emergency Preparedness and School Supply Lists; plan and coordinate development and sale of annual yearbook. Recruit and oversee program chairs and volunteers to help with these programs and liaise with school staff and vendors. (2-10 hours per month, varies by month)
Advocacy Chair: Inform members on legislative issues at the local and state level; empower members to speak up on matters of importance; attend state PTSA Legislative Assembly in October (1-2 hours per month, more in October and during the legislative session)
Membership Chair: Conduct annual membership drive; maintain membership database; assist with creation of student directory (1-2 hours per month)
