The McAuliffe PTSA is looking for Board members for the 2026-2027 School Year!
Serving on the board is a great way to make connections with other McAuliffe parents and help build a strong school community! Find a friend and share a position! Share your skills or learn new ones! Contact [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering for any of the following roles or would like more information. A conversation does not equal a commitment, so feel free to just inquire!
SECRETARY: Take notes and attendance at monthly PTSA board and general membership meetings. Prepare and distribute meeting minutes for approval at the next meeting. Maintain inventory and organization of PTSA closet and storage room. Review copies of monthly bank statements.
VP ART: Lead McAuliffe’s Art Start Program! Recruit, train, and support the Art Start parent volunteer team which plans and leads art projects in each classroom. Ensure supplies and resources are available. Ensure kiln and art storage room are maintained. Recruit volunteers for art events, such as Art Walk Show, Square One fundraiser, and the annual Reflections competition. Attend monthly PTSA board meetings and general membership meetings.
VP ENRICHMENT: Plan/coordinate enrichment programs that may be of interest to the school community. Recruit and oversee program chairs and volunteers to help with programs such as Assemblies, Spelling Bee, Math Challenge, Math Club, and After School Enrichment. Coordinate with school staff and vendors, including the YMCA. Attend monthly PTSA board meetings and general membership meetings.
VP GRANTS AND GIVING: Prepare grant request documents and disseminate after receiving grant requests from the president, treasurer, or McAuliffe staff. Act as McAuliffe’s Lake Washington School Foundation’s Ambassador. Oversee McAuliffe PTSA’s charitable giving, such as the Holiday Outreach, Fall Coat Drive, Sunshine Fund, and Pantry Packs. Attend monthly PTSA board meetings and general membership meetings.
