Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

DEI

McAuliffe Elementary PTSA is committed to developing and fostering an inclusive environment that celebrates and honors the diverse community that we are a part of.  We strive to educate, appreciate, and celebrate what makes McAuliffe unique!

What is DEI?
Picture

Each month in the Newsclik, we feature a Community Connections feature to help bring our cultures together, actively seeking to understand our complex and rich identities and leaning into topics of diversity and inclusion. We encourage you to share your family's holidays and/or cultural traditions with our community for a future newsletter. Please email information, pictures, and/or videos to inclusion@mcauliffeptsa.org  If you prefer, we are happy to write up the information with guidance from you. We'd love to hear from you!

Check out our Cultural Calendar 2022-23 (Calendario en español). If you have book recommendations for the holidays/days of significance or suggestions to improve our cultural calendar, please email us at inclusion@mcauliffeptsa.org

Equity and Inclusion Virtual Speaker Series for Parents
Sponsored by the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS), the Equity and Inclusion Virtual Speaker Series is a program led by a number of independent schools to offer our communities and beyond the opportunity to connect, learn, and engage in topics around equity, inclusion, and antiracist education and action.  The program invites 4-5 speakers throughout the academic year to create access to recognized authors and speakers that engage participants in complex topics through dialogue, cross-cultural communication, and a deeper understanding of the impact that racism and oppression have in our institutions and the greater society.  The series is free and open to the public.
