Drop Off and Pick Up

Picture
Dropping off your child at school can get hectic and frustrating.  Let's all work together to keep our children safe and keep traffic running smoothly by following these rules:
  • Use the loading and unloading area along the red curb for drop off; children exit and enter the vehicle on the curb side.
  • Please do not stop in the left pass through lane as this lane is for vehicles accessing parking stalls and exiting the school.
  • Please do not drop off in the parking lot unless you are in a parking space as this backs up traffic by blocking cars trying to park.

Walking and Biking

Picture
Walking and biking offers a great way to avoid the school traffic jam and get exercise and bonding time before school.  The district's Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Advisory Committee has suggested bike and walk routes to the district's elementary schools. This group worked with traffic and pedestrian safety experts as well as a GIS consultant to develop GIS maps of walk routes.

The Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Advisory Committee also worked on a policy concerning riding bikes to school. This policy replaces individual school rules for when students can ride bikes to school.

Students who have complete a bicycle application are allowed to ride bikes to school. Bicycle applications can be found in the school office. By signing the application students agree to the following rules/guidelines:
  1. All bicycles must be parked in the bike rack.
  2. All students must wear approved bicycle helmets.
  3. Students must walk bikes when on school grounds. This includes walking bikes to/from the 4 -corners stop sign.
  4. All bicycles must have a lock.

*Skateboards are not allowed on school property
**Students who ride scooters must adhere to all bicycle rules and be able to lock them to our bicycle racks. Scooters are not allowed in the school building and cannot be stored in the classroom. Electric scooters are not allowed.
