The PTSA relies on the generosity of our families, sponsors and community to provide its many programs and events, and to run as any non-profit organization does. At McAuliffe, the PTSA has one large, active fundraiser in the Fall -- the Challenger Chase Fun Run. The PTSA also utilizes a few "passive" fundraisers, which typically require a one-time signup or activation, and the rest is done automatically by participating companies.

Challenger Chase FUN RUN

Don't miss THE BIG ONE! This is our school's largest fundraiser and, for all intents and purposes, our only "active" fundraiser where we ask students to actively seek and solicit flat donations from family, friends, and community members to support our school. Due to the success of the Fun Run, the PTSA is able to reduce its number of other active fundraising activities such as cookie dough sales, magazine sales, candy sales, holiday decor, holiday wreaths, etc. (Not that we don't like those, but it allows other classes or groups to possibly utilize those opportunities!)
The Fun Run has really gained momentum in its success. In 2011, students raised a fantastic $30,655. In 2012 (and without their sixth grade, which had moved to middle school), McAuliffe students raised an astounding $52,000, doubling the previous year's number! Our 2013 Fun Run brought in $49,022, exceeding our $40,000 goal by 23%! In 2014 we not only beat our $40,000 goal once again -- we broke our record with $56,000.41! And we did it again in 2015! We reached our $40,000 goal, and hit a record-high of $64,143.19! 2016 was no different. Our goal of $55,000 was surpassed with a whopping $72,924.70!! A new all time record high! Wow! A huge thanks to our McAuliffe community! A *huge* part of the Fun Run's success is the amount of funds raised through company-matching programs. For example, in 2012 more that $17,000 was raised thanks to the generosity of those companies who matched employee donations. Fun Run History
