Adding News/Blog
In order for a piece of news or information to show up in the News section on the home page of mcauliffeptsa.org or in the Star Gazer, it must be entered in our News (formerly called Blog).
The Star Gazer replaces most flyers and Parent Organizer. It is delivered either Daily or Weekly depending on what the parent has chosen. The vast majority of parents get it Weekly. It is delivered on Thursday nights.
In order for something to appear in Friday's Star Gazer, your entry must be submitted AND APPROVED by the Communications VP by Thursday early evening.
- Email communications@mcauliffeptsa.org when you have finished entering your news.
- If your news item it doesn't show up on the home page by 7:00 pm, call Susannah Pryal at 435-968-2600.
Ideally, your news should be in a few days earlier.
Steps
1. If you are a McAuliffe PTSA Board Member or Chairperson, you can get a login ID by emailing communications@mcauliffeptsa.org
2. Go to the www.mcauliffeptsa.org/addnews (there is no link for this from the home page, so remember the address) and enter your login information
3. Type in your information and please note:
- Be sure to use Paste Text Button when pasting -- this is very important not to have any formatting copied!
- Type out email addresses
- Highlight using bold or italic
- One space after a period, colon, question mark
- If you want to add pictures, you may, but they will only show up in the blog post on the website, not in the Star Gazer summary. However, most people who are interested will click through to the post. Click on the link below for instructions
4. Check posting date--you may post as soon as it is approved or set a future date
5. Email communications@mcauliffeptsa.org when you are done to notify about the posting so it can be approved.
