WHAT IS THE MCAULIFFE PTSA?

PTSA is the oldest and largest non-profit child advocacy group in the nation whose exclusive interest is the health, welfare, safety and education of children. It functions on national, state, district and local levels. More than any other organization, PTSA has the ability to make a school a better place by addressing the needs of the individual school.

The purpose of PTSA:

To speak with one voice for every child.  Support the safety, education and welfare of all children in our community.  To encourage and promote parent and family involvement in children’s lives.  To advocate for laws that protect and nurture children and youth.

Your McAuliffe PTSA is an organization of Parents and McAuliffe Staff working to enrich the social, cultural, and academic experience of the Students at McAuliffe. Each student who attends McAuliffe is directly impacted by the PTSA.

McAuliffe PTSA is fueled by Parent Power

Studies have shown that a major factor of successful schools are high levels of parent and community involvement and support.  You have the ability to make a difference in your child’s education and the power to enrich the education of every child at McAuliffe.

How?

1. Become a member!

Our goal is to have one parent advocate for every child at McAuliffe. As a McAuliffe PTSA member, you help identify the needs and develop solutions that advocate for all children at McAuliffe and carry a voice to the state, and national levels.

Added benefit for becoming a member of the McAuliffe PTSA… your family gets a school directory (great for planning play dates and birthday parties!)

2. Support McAuliffe PTSA Fundraising Events

Save and submit General Mills Box Tops and Redmond Town Center Receipts

Sign up McAuliffe for Target and Washington Mutual School Donation Programs

Purchase McAuliffe Elementary Spirit Wear

Participate in the yearly main fundraiser (alternates each year between Auction or Pass the Hat!)

3. Volunteer!

Parents make a difference everyday in the lives of the student’s at McAuliffe. McAuliffe has a volunteer need for every level of commitment, whether it is only a one time, one hour, once a week, once a month, and only day or night.

The perks of volunteering:

You get to know the McAuliffe Staff and other parents

You get a firsthand experience of your child’s other world (school)

Your child will be proud that you are helping

You make a difference in your child’s education and in the educations of all students at McAuliffe!

P.S. Dads and Grandparents are some of the best volunteers!
