Updated: October 26, 2007 MCAULIFFE FAST FACTS Did you know? Christa McAuliffe Elementary is named for Sharon Christa
McAuliffe, America’s Teacher in Space. A gifted teacher, she was selected for the Teacher in
Space program to communicate with students from space. She was aboard the
Challenger space shuttle and died, along with the 6 other crew members, when
the Challenger exploded just after launch in January 1986. She was born in
1948 and grew up in Massachusetts. Mascot: Space
Shuttle Known as: “The

the cross walks, pay attention to the safety patrol officers, and do not
double park or leave your car unattended in the pick-up zone directly in
front of the school. Children enter in the morning and exit at the end of the
day through the outside classroom doors. (PM kindergarten enters the
building through the main school entrance). |
